Kim has been in community management since 1988. For the past 15 years she has been employed by Vanguard Community Management. Currently holding the position of President, Kim supervises, trains and mentors managers, markets and heads up Vanguard's educational programs for all employees.

In 2004, Kim was named an inaugural member to the “Ambassador Circle” an exclusive recognition program for Community Managers of Associa Member companies that recognizes outstanding leadership and dedication. As the Education Coordinator for Vanguard, Kim is a strong believer in continuing education. Kim successfully obtained her CMCA in 1997, her AMS in 2000 and her PCAM in 2004. Kim has continued her education with the PMDP 300 series classes offered by the Community Association Institute.

Kim was elected to the Board of Directors of the Illinois Chapter of the Community Association Institute in 2005. Additionally, Kim currently serves the Chapter as Chair of the Program Committee. In 2004 Kim received the Rising Star award from the CAI, Illinois Chapter.
