Paul Reyes serves as a Legislative Aide for Senator John Carona. In this capacity, he implements the Senator's governing vision by formulating legislative strategies, harnessing professional relationships and addressing the needs and concerns of the Senator's constituents.

Paul has assisted Senator Carona in securing passage of key legislation in the areas of health and human services, government organization, education, and infrastructure development and security. He is responsible for the preparation of bill drafts, and tracking and managing of legislation authored or sponsored by the Senator from initial filing through final passage. He also prepares appropriation requests for both district-specific and statewide items.

In addition to analyzing pending legislation by other Legislative members, Paul prepares the Senator for committee and floor debate and monitors district projects and interim committees. He travels frequently to Dallas to meet with the Senator's constituents.

Paul has additional political experience working for the Business Industry Political Action Committee, in Washington, D.C. This experience afforded him the opportunity to learn governmental procedures and best practices for analyzing issues and legislation. Paul also worked for a short time at the White House as an intern in the Office of Political Affairs.

While Paul has a keen interest in politics, it is not his only interest. He is a volunteer for Junior Achievement and serves on the board of Mainspring Schools, a n e arly childhood educational facility. Paul is also an amateur boxer.

Paul holds a J.D. from Tulane University and a B.A. in Criminology from the University of Tampa. He has been published in the Tulane European & Civil Law Journal.
